Marriage Vows

"I _______, take you,________, as my lawful wife (husband), to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part."

Well, the above is just a sample of a marriage vow. Sometimes, I wonder when a couple exchange vows like that, do they actually mean it from the bottom of their heart, or it's just purely for that moment in time. Maybe some people just take it for granted after the vow had been exchanged or maybe from the start, it wasn't meant to be.
