Last Blog Entry for 2006

This will be my last blog entry for Year 2006 before embarking on a whole new journey for Year 2007. Ahhh....Guess it's gona be a fun and exciting night tonight even though my friends and I do have not very concrete plans. I just know that we'll be watching 'Confession of Pain" at 2.15am, and then head to Geylang for Supper after the movie, eat and chat till dawn before heading home and sleep for the day. So from 10.00pm - 2.00am, we've yet to find a location. Orchard, Esplanade or Vivo...Haiz....guess it's gona be 人山人海 wherever we choose to go. Anyway, since it's the last blog entry, I shall do a quick recap of all the 'happenings' for 2006.

Family:
Something quite major happened to my family but I won't elaborate much on it. Just hoped that my mummy will see things in a bigger perspective and to know the fact that we're all grown-ups and we have our own life to lead. There's a difference between loving us and being over-protective over us. Well, there's no right or wrong in this issue. Hopefully she'll understand. Time will tell I guess.

Career:
Work has been pretty smooth-sailing, though there were some hipcups here and there. I'm proud to say that I managed at least a total of 8 major events for my Company all by myself! It's no easy task especially when most events are like running nearly at the same period of time, which means that my weekends are burnt most of the time as well. And I do not have anyone to cover me so it's like I have to go down for all the events from morning till night to ensure everything is okay, or to even do sales myself. That's why I always say that I'm a Bao Sua Bao Hai Executive aka Overwork Underpaid Employee. BUT, come February, I'm looking forward to some increment next year. Not sure the amount yet...hopefully it'll be some
Yummy figures that will make me stay!

Just this year alone, I travelled to Japan, France and Malaysia all for business trip. I would say it's a pretty good opportunity and exposure I got and it just made me realised that I've still got a long long way to go. But 1 thing I'm quite sure is that I did not regret specialising in Marketing and entering into a FMCG industry. I don't deny that it's pretty stressful at times but all jobs will have their stress factor. Just that I like to whine and grumble about it lah! Hahaha

My colleagues/team have been pretty good so far. We talk, we trash things out if we're unhappy with one another so that there'll be no hard feelings. And the people are more real. I would really prefer someone to trash things out if they're unhappy with me rather than plan some evil plots to sabotage (which was what happens early this year) and backstabbed me. And the stupid me still treat them as the bestest colleagues ever. Karma. It will come. "
Good Luck" to them!

I also met a lot of nice people along the way. Suppliers, Contractors, promoters, people from other food industries blar blar blar....it's always wise to lay a good network from all trade as you won't know when you'll need their help. Heh heh....Hopefully, my career for Year 2007 will be as good as 2006, if not, an even better one. I shall pray.

Friends:
Love my bunch of buddies beri much! They're still as witty, crappy (like moi), crazy and supportive as ever before. So glad that despite our busy schedules, we still make a point to meet up almost every week just for a cup of cuppa, shopping or simply to catch up. I always believe in the saying that: "You don't need to have many friends, but you need a few good ones." How true indeed.

Relationship:
It gives me headache when I come to this. Oh well, I'll still declare myself Single and Avaliable for now. Hmm....as for being Desperate ah......Erm......Maybe Yes, Maybe No. Muahahaha.....Anyway, I seriously do not know what I really seek for in a relationship currently. Prolly coz I'm pretty happy and enjoying the freedom I got now. So....shall leave it to fate. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

Money:
Don't remind me about it. Just yesterday I spent nearly $200 on shopping again!!!! Anyway, since I don't buy Toto or 4D, so my money luck for 2006 is nothing fantastic. Ok, save for some 10 cents or 20 cents that I picked up from the streets. Oh, not forgetting the meagre increment I got early this year. But it was a fair adjustment lah since at that point of time, I just joined for like less than 1 year and yet to really work for the Company. Like I mentioned earlier, hopefully the increment next year will be a Big, Fat and Yummy one!

As for my New Year Resolutions, hmm....seems like I've yet to accomplish any of those stated earlier this year and in June. But then, I'll still wana state the 3 main resolutions for 2007:

1. Sleep Early
2. Eat Healthy
3. Stay Pretty

So here's wishing everyone a Merry Happy Cranky New Year for 2007!!! Enjoy the Holidays! Cheers cheers!

MERRY X'MAS 2006

It's a really Great X'mas this year, especially with all the Yummy pressies that I've received/exchanged since last Thursday! And of coz, the wonderful bunch of buddies I've got and superly declicious food which is making me putting on the extra pounds once again! Arrgg! Think I can never go back to slim slim again! *pouts*

Anyway, I shall first start with my Company's celebration on Thursday. It was pretty fun, especially since I'm the organiser! So I had all the evil thoughts in my mind to sabo all my colleagues, even my ED and GM were not spared either! *evils laughter* But it wasn't easy to think of games. Luckily I roped in my sis and also the R&D gals to help! We had pretty good food as well, and I got a thermal flask (which I had wanted to get for quite some time) for my company's gift exchange. Ben, one of my colleagues bought me a Hello-Kitty Muscical Box with Biscuits. It's Damn Cute ok!

Usually for the last 2 weeks of December, everyone is already in their festive mood. Same for me as well. And I even took leave on Friday just so that I still can have my last min X'mas shopping and to have an even longer weekend! So Friday was spent on nuahing at home in the morning until noon time, I met up with someone for Dim-Sum @ Red Star aka Hong Xing Restuarant. This place serves really x3 yummy Dim-Sum and the whole set-up of the place is damn retro ok! For those who have not heard of this place, it's located in Chin Swee Road. I think it's one of the last few places serving such yummy Dim-Sum, somemore in the tradition push-carts serving all the Ha-Gaos and Siew-Mais! Best of all, they have a lot of different variety of Dim-Sum which I'm sure other places will not be able to offer. Anyway, this someone is really sweet to actually take leave that day just to accompany me when he found out that I'm on leave that day. It was a surprise as this someone is usually quite a workcoholic. Aweeee! Sweet!....Anyway, before I can digest all my Dim-Sum, I met up with the gals and Mat for dinner @ Aji-Teh, Taka Basement 1. The food is pretty yummy, especially the potatoe with cheese and....erm...salmon? Thanks to Clara for the treat as it was her birthday the very next day. We roamed around Taka for some last min shopping and it was really quite packed. Since it will be Clara's birthday in a few hours time, I decided to give her and my other 2 buddies a little surprise by 'kidnapping' them to a remote part of Singapore, Marina South...the new Pier. That's where we 'count-down' to her Birthday. For those who have not been there, please go! It's really a very nice place especially at night. Prolly not much people have been there, so it's still quite peaceful. The only thing is that the rooftop garden closes at 12 midnight, so it's kinda pity lah even though there's a small chill-out pub there. Very cool place! After being chased by the security guard, we headed down to Pasir Panjang Food Centre as we were all craving for BBQ stingray, Sotong, Lala.....*drools* But Shit! when we got there, the whole place was closed already! Damn it. I wonder is it because of the construction sites that it affected the business there, so they decided to close early. Haiz....what a disappointment. The nearest will be the West Coast McD so off we went. Chatted till around 2+ before sending them back and I really concussed till the very next day!

Saturday was the party at my place so I had to go buy some last min groceries and pick up Clara's Birthday Cake from Swensens. I still have to buy some last min X'mas pressie for my colleague's son! Guess I'm really quite a good multi-tasker, running here and there doing all the errands! Well trained by my current job! Party was fun. The Pix tells everything I guess.

They stayed till around 2am+ until I think everyone seemed to be concussing soon, so all headed back home, especially when the poor Clara is sick! Yes, it was her birthday and X'mas is just the very next day, the poor gal spent her entire X'mas eve sleeping and resting at home. Oh ya! talking about the yummy pressies I've got....here it is:

OMG!!! PEKO & POKO in KIMONO!! SOOOOOOO KAWAII I tell you!! It's from my darling sister. Erm, ok...Poko's 'skirt' seemed to be dropping off....think he has gone thinner while staying under the X'mas tree for almost....1 month? Anyway, will wait for my sis to be back from Jap and see how we can fix it, coz I also duno how his clothes works....is he supposed to tuck in or what. Muahahaha

Mango demine skirt from lovely Clara....

A Baby-G, which is really very "ME"....

A Mizuno Windbreaker, which coincidentally have the same colour combi as the Baby-G i.e. White & Pink and a mouse from Samsung...Very Cool indeed!

A Hello-Kitty Table Calender/Note Holder which I really really like, courtesy of Shan-Mei; a piggy mouse handwrist and giant robotic massager from Nanny Mathew; a little piggy mobile strap which I decided to hang it on my digi-cam instead from Clara's sister, Qiuyu and lastly, a Garfield Thermal Flask which I got for gift exchange lucky dip at home. And that pressie happens to be bought by Mathew's sis, Eileen. Very cute hor!

And finally, a party/function bag (which I feel that it is) from Guess, coutesy of my sis-in-law! Hmm, seems like I gota increase my budget in getting X'mas gifts for everyone next year, otherwise it makes me feel so bad! Thanks to everyone for all the lovely gifts! Hoped that you guys like yours as well! Lastly, here's wishing everyone a Merry Merry X'mas and a Happy 2007!

Sunday, December 17, 2006

I finally went to Vivo City last Friday!! Well, it wasn't what I had really expected to be actually. The whole 'feel' of that place seems more like....erm...Marina Square? And for people who drives, I think it gets really confusing as there seems to be many exits and everywhere looks the same. Guess I'll still stick to Orchard/Bugis even though I have a direct train there. The only place that attracts me is Daiso, which is more spacious as compared to the one in Plaza Sing, while IMM is like at the other end of the world even though it's spacious and seemed to have more variety of stuffs. Oh! And I also went to shop at Jurong Point. Strangely, it's quite a nice place for shopping!

Saturday was spent shopping (AGAIN!!!) with Clara.
MANGO SALE!!!...50% Off! I know I seriously ought to be shot (Yes, Please Kill Me!) for shopping again. But the bargins are really too good to be missed! I ended up buying a pair of heels which looks really pretty (on my feet of coz) and comfy; a jacket which is damn cool and will come in handy should I be going overseas next year and an ultra cool demin skirt, which is actually a X'mas pressie from my bestest friend, Clara! (Thank You Dear! Muackies!!) But she's making me feeling very bad. Coz initially I was contemplating on whether to get the skirt as the jacket and heels are really causing quite a big hole in my pocket. Then Miss Clara just snatched it over and went to the counter to pay for it and said that it will be my X'mas pressie! Awwweeee.......So Sweet of her! Of coz I inisted that I do not want, and I actually snatched it back from her at the counter but I failed. But well, between me and her, we don't 'ke-gao' with one another. That's one of the reason why our friendship can last for so long even though at times we do have our differences and tantrums. Come Saturday will be her Birthday and I'm gona give her a sweet little surprise. *evils laughter* Anyway, the grand total damage at Mango: S$142.00

I went to watch Flags of our Father last evening. It's a great movie and so far, it's the only movie that can make me cry buckets. And I really mean buckets. Really touching and you must really watch it to feel the entire movie.

I'm now waiting for Night in the Museum, out in cinemas on 20 December (sneak preview) . Guess it's gona be a great movie as well. Hopefully it will not disappoint me. Wanted to catch Deja Vu today but the gloomy weather today makes me just want to sleep in and slack for the entire day! Besides, I've been going out so frequent for the whole of last week that I just need to re-charge my energy for the start of a new week tomorrow.

Last Thursday evening I went for yummy steamboat with my colleagues at Liang Seah Street. Parking there was a total disaster and we ended up parking at Shaw Centre and walked across. The steamboat at Ting Yuan was great though the variety of food is lesser and the service is kinda slow. It takes ages for your orders to appear, or worst still, it does not even appear at all. But the soup is pretty tasty and it's also the company that matters. Though we were superly full and almost puking along the roads, the tempting desserts are shouting out to us. Yummy desserts we had and only left for home at around 11pm! Guess we would have hang out even longer, but it was another usual working day for most of them while I was the only one on leave.

Well, that was how last week was spent just like that. Time seems to pass even faster now and it's scary that 2007 is just like another 2 weeks time. My buddies and I are already making all the plans for the countdown on 31st. Seems like it's gona be at Meritus Mandarin Hotel again......

Tiring KL Trip

It was a pretty hectic trip that makes me real tired until now. Due to flight delay, we arrived in KL around 10+ and by the time we traveled down to KL city, it was around close to noon and we were caught in the jam for almost 2hours! Had lunch at KLCC where we ate a freakingly expensive Muslim food. We managed to grab some shoes at Vincci before rushing to check in at the service apartment at Times Square. It's a pretty nice place to stay in with 2 bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. Cosy and a bird's eye view of the KL city. Anyway, after that was a nightmare where we hopped from 1 place to another, going up and down the car around 20 times? or maybe even more. In total, we visited around 9 hypermarkets/supermarkets around KL. I had quite a bad headache by then, but I managed to 'tong' all the way till late at night.

We had a not so fantastic dinner which was quite a pity, since KL is known for its famous Bak Kut Teh and all other delicacies. Well.....maybe next time when I'm there for holiday. I totally concussed until the next morning where we had breakfast and then checked out of the hotel and headed to our distributor's office for a long meeting, from 10am till 3pm... NON-STOP!! Oh well, the occasional stops were only toilet breaks and to steal some biscuits that's all. And at some point in time, I actually dozed off during the meeting. Now I'm a bit kan-cheong coz I'm supposed to write down the minutes for the meeting! Damnz!....

Lunch was at one of the Vietnam resturaunt in Sunway Lagoon. Not too bad though we could have eaten more. We had some last minute shopping at Vincci (again!) before heading to the airport. Somehow I wished that I could have extended my stay there to shop and shop! Heehee....anyway, I still managed to grab 2 pairs of shoes, my contact lenses and solution.

Well, every business trip is like going for school excusions where you learn new things. I know I still have a long way to go.......There're still so many things to learn.....But I don't really fancy meetings like this....it makes me sleepy! ^_^

Fugly Hair

Think I forgot to mention something very disasterous....and that is my Fugly Hair due to a terrible haircut last week. It was supposed to be a trim but ended up to be a cut...and a bad one. I'm still trying to recover from my heartbreaking haircut. Luckily someone invented hair products i.e. Hair Cream, Hair Gel, Hair Spray....blar blar blar. And I think I'll cry buckets if I forget to bring my Lucidol. L out! Heehee....ya, I know I'm hiao...after all, I'm still a vain girl at heart. *blushes*....Anyway, I shall be more firm in future...TRIM means TRIM! No more Fugly Hair! I want to be pretty!!! Off to bed now....need to catch an early flight to KL for business tomorrow. Vincci shoes!!....Here I Come!....

In the Mood for X'mas!

Presenting the Lovely, Annual Re-usable X'mas Tree from my Home! Muahaha....Pretty rite?....But I wasn't the one who decorated the tree lah....Think it was either my sis or my mummy who did it. Anyway in case you're wondering, the presents under the tree are REAL ok! Sis and I shared to buy the pressies for the rest of our family members. More pressies will be under the X'mas tree soon as our sis-in-law will usually buy for us. And also, I'll be having a little X'mas gathering at my place again this year, where we'll have gift exchange as well. Mmm...guess my place will be superly crowded on the 23rd since my brother will have his own party on the same day......Oh yes! And not forgetting it will be Miss Clara's birthday....Must start my plans on how to Sabo her liao! *evils laughter*

Saturday, December 02, 2006

Took my long long overdued leave yesterday and went X'mas Shopping with my sis and buddies. But it felt more like a Saturday than a Friday prolly coz I'm also pretty used to going out shopping on a Saturday as well. Felt like a Santa Clause as I bought so many pressies for my family and close friends. I'm still not exactly done yet so I guess I'll still have another round to go later on. Action City definately has a lot to offer for nice and practical gifts as X'mas gifts. Infact, I bought most of my pressies from there. It's not too expensive either. And I also spent a bomb on myself buying clothes again! Haiz....I seriously wonder how I can ever save with my expenses higher than my earnings! *pouts*....What's more, I might be going for a short business trip again to KL next Friday and Saturday and Malaysia is having its ANNUAL SALE!!! OMG!....My manager and I are already discussing on buying Vincci Shoes! *faints* Well, unless the trip is cancelled.

Need to prepare to meet my lesbian partner for X'mas shopping again! Oh...I've finally post up the pix from my Paris trip. Actually I still have a lot but it's too big to be uploaded...so just make do with these first ya! Muahaha

Long Overdued Pix from Paris
