Missing Home....

I'm finally back from Paris!!...So glad to be home at last! 10 days seemed like 10 years manz! Ok, I know I'm exaggerating, but still...when you travel overseas, you'll tend to appreciate our tiny island and of course, your family and friends back home more than ever! It was a pretty tough trip this time round, probably coz we weren't very well prepared. There were some hicups here and there, a lot of "so-near-yet-so-far" kinda situations, losing our way, trying to adapt to their culture, different time zone etc. And not forgetting their not so friendly attitude. No doubt it is a beautiful place to visit, generally it is not a very safe and friendly place. Other than the LV, Gucci, Ferragamo...most or in fact all the things there are expensive! So I still blew a hole in my pocket on a Gucci Bag and Wallet. The price is already slightly cheaper and plus the 12% tax reabte, it's too good a deal to be missed. Guess that this time round I'll really have to munch on grass since I've enough of bread, bread and more breads for the past 10 days!

The exhibition was okay. Quiet but the enquiries we get are more genuine. On my end, it was more of a networking session with other exhibitors from other F&B industry such as Chocolate, Canned Drinks, Instant Saucers, Oil etc. Most of the bossess do not have airs around them so we actually hang out together after work for dinner, visit churches, see Mona Lisa, go up to the Eiffel Tower etc. Visiting the Louvre museum where Mona Lisa is 'staying' was the funniest part. Don't expect too much if you have intention to visit her. Anyway, her eyes really gives me the creeps as her eyeballs are indeed following you, no matter which angel you're looking at. I really had goosebumps manz!

We visited the Eiffel Tower and went all the way right up to the top! My legs really turned jelly while travelling up/down! It was scary but was worth the money and the scare lah! Heehee...Also managed to capture the flickering lights of the Eiffel Tower that takes place hourly from 7pm - 11pm. Very Very beautiful! It's really good to just sit or lie down on the grass patch enjoying the beautiful Eiffel Tower at night, with the cool breeze on your face. It's heavens! I guess that somehow cured me of my hyperventilation syndrome! Muahaha

As we were not able to fly back on the 28th, we had additional 1 more day for sightseeing/shopping. As I was already severly broke by then, sightseeing would be a better option. We took the city bus ride which took us almost 3 hours to the main touristy spots. It was a relaxing bus ride, where we sat on the open air upper deck to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenary.

Somehow the French food that we ate were not exactly very fantastic. Nonetheless, we still had Escagots, Onion Soup with cheese (which in this case is still quite yummy) and some strange tasting food lah. But the Kebab there is really good! But that's not French food lah. Also heard that the Vietnam food is really good over in Chinatown but it's too far for us to travel all the way there just to eat, so we gave that a miss.

There're just too many things to blog on for this trip but I guess, pictures speaks a thousand words! I'll upload and post it up here soon. Stay tunned! :D

Off to Paris tonight!

A short blog entry before I leave for airport in another 1 hrs time. Yeah....Am leaving for the romantic place, Paris! Unfortunately, I'm there for work! *humph*....As mentioned in my earlier post, its the SIAL 2006. One of the biggest food exhibition in Paris. Heehee...So while you guys are enjoying your Hari Raya and Deepavali holidays here, I'll be slogging my arse there, standing from morning till night. *sobz*....But of coz, we'll still have some time for R&R. Hopefully to get some time off for sight seeing and not forgetting our dose of SHOPPING!!! My Manager has even found a place, something like the factory outlet for all the branded stuffs, which is like 30% cheaper but applicable for the last season only. But who cares rite! I'm going to be so very broke when I'm back. Currently I do not have anything in mind to buy, but I can't say the same when I'm there, especially I can an implusive buyer as well. Will see how it goes then. But the LV store is definately a MUST GO! Muahahaha

The beautiful Eiffel Tower at night...we definately have to go there to take some nice pix! Heehee

Shall be back in approximately 10 days time, and immediately when I'm back, it''ll be the Subaru Challenge! OMG! I guess my hyperventilation syndrome situation is not going to improve anytime soon! *gasping for air*...Anyway, do come down and visit me, but with FOOD of coz! Muahaha....Till then! Here's wishing you all an early Happy Hari Raya & Deepavali! Enjoy the holidays, the loooonnngggg weekend ya! See you all when I'm back! *muackies*

Desperado, by Linda Ronstadt

Desperado
Why don't you come to your senses
You've been out riding fences for so long now
Oh you're a hard one
But I know that you've got your reasons
These things that are pleasing you will hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She'll beat you if she's able
The queen of hearts is always your best bet
Well it seems to me some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the things that you can't get

Desperado
you know you ain't getting younger
Your pain and your hunger are driving you home
And freedom, oh freedom
Well that's just some people talking
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the wintertime
Sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losing all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away

Desperado
Why don't you come to your senses
Come down from your fences
Open the gate
It may be raining
But there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you
Let somebody love you
Before it's too late

More Rest Less Work

I need more time, I need more rest, I need less work!!....I am so so so burnt out at work that I think I'm now suffering from Hyperventilation Syndrome (HVS)! To think that I was still laughing at my friend who might be suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)....and it's my turn now! In case you're wondering, both syndromes do exist ok! Just do a google search to learn more about it. Though it's two different types of disorder, both are related to the "S" word...STRESS!!! I do have shortness of breath previously but this time is really quite bad. When I talk, I can feel a lack of oxygen and I have shortness of breath, such that I need to breath REALLY hard to catch my breath to complete the sentence. And yesterday when I was having dinner with Clara, my palms and face suddenly turn red! At first we thought I could be allergic to some food but since young, I've never been allergic to any kinds of food. And we were eating the same thing! If yes, I will rather be dead if I'm allergic to food! OMG! Imagine being allergic to KFC, Bak-Kuas, Bak Kut Teh!!....Please Kill Me then!!!!....And now, it occured to me that it could be one of the symptons for HVS. I might see a doctor if the situation does not improve by Monday. But in the event that I just drop dead and die before I can see the doctor, just want to tell everyone that I lub you all....My parents, my sister, my brother, my bestest pals, my colleagues and even my enemies! (Heh heh, coz I'll LOVE to huant you, You and YOU when I'm dead. I'll be Back! *winks*) Muahahaha....I know I'm getting a little nutty here. I need rest. Nitez!!

World Trade Centre

Caught this movie last week @ The Cathay. I'll tok about the movie first. Hmm...personally, it's not a very fantastic movie, neither izzit a lousy movie. But it's definately a slow movie. It's pretty inspiring as in, you see how the 2 survivors motivate each other in order to survive and also how the rescuers sacrifice themseleves to save them etc.

The Cathay, which is the new cinema complex near Plaza Singapura is quite a good place to catch a movie. Probably the place is still quite new, the cinema and seats are pretty clean. But I feel that the place is quite inaccessible considering the fact that you have to walk quite a distance to get there unless you have your own mode of transportation. But the building itself is quite a disaster. Most of the shops are not open yet and forget about eating there either. We don't see any foodcourt around, no fast food outlets...only got Starbucks, Ya Kun, Taiwan Shilin and 2 restuarants. That's about it. So it's just purely for watching movies. Anyway, since it's a free movie treat, I shall just keep my mouth shut. heehee

Just 2 - 3 weeks ago, there were newsreports, forwarded emails, smses telling people not to pick up the call with the no. +8613713486543. I just received a call this morning at 7.18am from this no.! Anyway I was sleeping like a pig, so only realised it when I woke up. Hmm....so it's true afterall! Muahaha.....So you guys take note ya!

Last nite we had a fun fun time @ Bishan Park, trying to burn it down! *evils laughter* But thanks to the irritating haze that is like choking us the whole night! And not forgetting the smoke from the sparklers, party poppers, burning leaves, grass and watever...I think it's worst than being a 2nd hand smoker! Anyway, the place is just as crowded as last year....I guess there were many people also trying to burn down the place. Heehee....ok....here're some pix taken...

My dearest Clara bought me the superly retro Rooster lantern. I LoVe It So Much! *Thanks dear...muackies* Here's an upclose view of my rooster....

So Cute rite!!!....And she bought a butterfly for herself. Well, she has always got a weakness for butterflies anyway....just like my fetish for...Mmm...roosters??....well, coz I'm born in the year of roosters wat! What were you guys thinking??!!! Heh heh...

Pretty pretty butterfly!....And when the Rooster meets the butterfly.....

If only there were no haze...it would be perfect! Who knows we might be able to see Change-Er flying around the moon!....Damnz! Will someone just tell them to STOP BURNING!!! Arrrggggg!!!....Irritating!

St. James Power Station - Bad Venue for Media Events

Yup yup...the title says it all! Today is the New Season Presentation or rather, another trade event by Mediacorp TV, which was held in the supposdly largest, coolest and happening entertainment hub, Saint James Power Station in Habourfront. Well, maybe coz the place is not exactly ready, constructions are everywhere! And not forgetting Vivio City is just across the road as well...everywhere you see is construction! I seriously wonder if anyone will go there for the opening this Saturday @ Vivio! Well, who knows end up gota put on a safety helmet when you get in there! *rolls eyes*...Ok, back to the power station. Actually the place is okay...but I guess it was a rather disorganised event. Parking was a disaster, even though they had valet service. But what's the point of having valet service when they didn't even have enough space to park those cars!!?? It's plain stupidity! I mean, they should have anticipated the number of guests turning up since they have sent out invites with RSVPs. And of coz, not forgetting being caught in the stupid jam as well!

After the parking disaster, went in there...it's so dark! Oh well, it's supposed to be 'night spot' anyway, can't expect to have bright lightings rite? But the problem is....it's so difficult to locate people! And the person servicing our account also had a hard time finding us. And it's noisy, making calls is also a disaster. And somehow that place have really bad network! Best of all...the place has so many steps and platforms etc. that I nearly had a really bad fall, which was already superly embarrasing enough okay! I missed a step, tumbled and nearly lost my balance. I was so close in falling flat on my nose! I managed to grab hold of something...Nope, not a hunk's sexy macho arms, but I think it was a pipe of something lah. And I can hear voices saying: "Oh dear, she's going to fall!"....Wah lau!!...Now I thank god that the place is dark, so no one can recognise me! Muahahaha....Oh! And did I mention that there were NO seats!! Well, it will be strange to have row of seats on the dance floor anyway. So we were made to STAND for nearly more than an hour!!! The early birds were lucky to have couches, which were like limited to the first 20 pax! I managed to grab a pathetic couch that is big enough for 2 arse. Unfortunately, someone fainted right in front of us in the midst of the program and of coz, we can't possibly not give up our seats rite? So we were made to stand for the rest of the show. And when it was time for the reception, we just sit on the edge of the stage! We're tired ya know!...But were chased away soon after as those guys have to move away all the equpipments. That's when we decided to take our leave. Ohhh! And I met my secondary school classmate at the event! It's a small world. Good to see her after soooo long! She's also in marketing line, but in a different industry. That's when she told me that our classmates are getting married this Sunday! Congrates to Marcus & Melissa!! Ahh....and that reminds me of my poly classmate, Lin Lin...who's gona ROM this coming Saturday as well! Congrates Congrates!.....Mmm....I'm still SINGLE!! So please don't ask me when it will be my turn!! Maybe if you find me Uncle Muthu, I might answer you that question! Muahaha...

Took some pix for today's event, but without moi inside. *sobz*....after that embrassing trip and nearly fall incident, I just want to run away and hide!

Singapore Idol 2 Winner....Hady Mirzz!....Yeah! He IS good looking in person. 2nd runner-up, Jonathon Leong performed as well, but I'm anti-him! So no pix! Haha

And that's Mi Lu Bing!....The winner of Superband, where we were one of the main sponsors for the show. Really talented guys.

No more pix. Next time round I'm just gona make sure I dun trip and fall again! *rolls eyes*....It's time to lose weight so tat I can balance better! Muahahaha

Break Away

Grew up in a small town
And when the rain would fall down
I'd just stare out my window
Dreaming of what could be
And if I'd end up happy
I would pray

Trying hard to reach out
But when I tried to speak out
Felt like no one could hear me
Wanted to belong here
But something felt so wrong here
So I'd pray
I could break away

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky.
Make a wish, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away.
Out of the darkness and into the sun.
But I won't forget all the ones that I love.
I'll take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away

Wanna feel the warm breeze
Sleep under a palm tree
Feel the rush of the ocean
Get onboard a fast train
Travel on a jetplane
Far away
And break away

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky.
Make a wish, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away.
Out of the darkness and into the sun.
But I won't forget all the ones that I love.
I'll take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away

Buildings with a hundred floors
Swinging with revolving doors
Maybe I don’t know where they’ll take me
Gotta keep movin on movin on
Fly away
Break away

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
Though it’s not easy to tell you goodbye
Take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away.
Out of the darkness and into the sun.
But I won't forget the place I come from
I gotta take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away
Breakaway
Break away

Can't seem to find time to blog until today, I can finally sit my arse down. It has been a superly hectic week and I can forsee more to come. I reckoned that my days of shaking legs at home would probably be in December, if I'm lucky. But at times, being busy is a good thing. It keeps my mind occupied and I won't start to let my thoughts run wild. Ya...I guess I just think too much most of the time.

Anyway, yesterday was Mat's birthday. We had an early birthday celebration for him in Ichiban @ Causeway Point last Wednesday. This superly blur dude actually went all the way to the branch in Suntec, while Miss Clara and I waited at the one in Causeway Point till all the flowers withered for him to rush down from town to the north! Nontheless, I guess he still enjoyed himself lah. Heehee

Then came Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday where my weekend was totally burnt at the Natas Fair. I felt superly low morale, probably coz it wasn't like the food fair where we constantly have free flow of goodies from other exhibitors, I feel like dozing off most of the time. That's when I know I have to indulge in BK's fries and cheese sticks to keeps me awake! Muahahahaa....And best of all, I break the record of having 5 meals of chicken rice in 3 days! Amazing eh! I'm amazed myself too! *rolls eyes*...Well, more chicken rice to come!

Yesterday had a meeting with the GM of Munchy. And I've made him my IDOL! Even my manager thinks that I'm nuts to go ga-ga over him! Muaaha....But he IS a really highly intellectual guy, full of wits and a good sense of humour. More importantly, he has that charisma...that X-factor that will make me go weak in my knees! Muahahaha.... Well, too bad he is married. Anyway, he is from Holland but based in KL for like 8 years or so. He can speak a little malay as well as mandarin. Damn funny when he spoke a bit yesterday. But I really learned a lot from him just from the way he talks and the advice he gave to us and all. Somehow you'll just sit up and listen to him attentively and learning from him. He's someone you'll want to respect him and he's definately well-known in the F&B industry. Mmm....seemes like I have a fetish for guys who are:

1. Intellectual
2. Witty
3. Humorous
4. Charismatic

But well, utimately...I guess fate plays a big part. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Who know's I might end up marrying....Uncle Muthu??!! Muahahaha......*rolls eyes*
