Home Sweet Home!

Am soooooo glad to be back home and we can instantly heave a sign of relief the moment our flight touched down Changi Airport on Wednesday. The trip is waayyyy tooooo long so much so that my boss and I were really home-sicked! But it was a good trip though. For those who have seen the news on TV and Papers, Yeah! Our product will be taking off in Japan by end of this month, if not, early April. Japan is definately a very tough but huge market. Hopefully we'll be able to do well there.

I seriously do not have much pix to post up here coz most of the time, we're either freezing our arse off, trying to find somewhere to hide or we're just too tired. After participating in 2 overseas trade show, this is one of the busiest show I've done! I think I've mentioned at least 1,000 times of "hai, dozo" (meaning "yes, please") and probably another 1,000 times of "arigatou" (meaning "thank you"). Under the Singapore Pavilion, we're infact the busiest booth since we serve FREE coffee! My poor japanese counterparts were just as busy. They were either helping us to serve coffee or bringing all the possible networks to our booth and introduce to my boss. Imagine that we were standing on our heels as well! Ok, we asked for it since we like to be *ahem* pretty! Wearing suits with flats is definately a big No-No!!

Shopping was great too despite our super tight schedule. Fortunately our exhibition area is near a factory outlet so it wasn't that bad like Paris. And on Friday, immediately after our exhibition, we headed straight down to Shinjuku to grab all our shopping - My Burberry Blue Label Bag! It's a super worth buy and I guess most of the exhibitors grabbed at least 1 item from blue label before heading back Singapore since you can't get it here either. And thank god for the domestic flight to Fukuoka which takes off from Narita Terminal 2, I managed to grab a pretty giant Peko who can dance! It's really super duper Cute ok!

The domestic flight to Fukuoka is a really scary one. I reckoned that it's even more scary than a roller-coster ride! It's a 130-seater flight and with such strong winds, we seriously have wild thoughts that the plane wouldn't land at all! And when we did able to land safely, I felt really floaty! Fortunately I did not puke though I did suffer from a bad headache.

We managed to catch the blooming white Sakura along the streets in Fukuoka! Pretty!

Fukuoka is a really nice place. The pace of life there is definately much slower, so don't expect it to be like Tokyo even though it's 'town' area, i.e. the Canal City is bustling with more activities. It's really samll and within 1 day, you can somehow see the whole place. Taking their subways is also much easier. Unlike in Tokyo....it's freaking complicating! We had a market survey in that place where they brought us to their logistic centre, equivalent to the GLS in Singapore. In layman's term, their central warehouse area. It's there that we got a chance to experience -25 degrees, where they store the frozen food products from overseas. Indeed an eye opener.

The government of Fukuoka is indeed very kind to provide us with Bento for lunch during the trade mission there.

Looks yummy on the outside, but tastes really cold and bad on the inside! Well, maybe they do not have the facilities to heat up the food, so we had cold Bento for 2 days during the event. Fortunately for the convenience store downstairs our hotel, they sell Yummy Fried Chicken drumstick! Sometimes I take that for breakfast. Heehee... But food in Japan generally tastes yummy. Even those fast food restuarant type or along the streets. We even had Yaktai (duno if it's the correct spelling). Anyway, it means street hawker food I think, where we had really good Kyushu ramen!

Oh! Side track a little. One of the exhibitors and some officials from our local govenment sector had really spooky experience at the hotel we're staying in Fukuoka. And they actually shifted out that night and the very next day respectively without our knowledge coz they did not want to scare us! The best part, the very haunted room is just directly opposite to ours!! It's really scary such that my family and friends all had the goosebumps when I told them. And the victims, they were indeed tramautised! They refused to reveal anything until the day we were at the airport, ready to depart for home. Later did we realised that some other exhibitors had bad nightmares/experiences as well and it seemed pretty related to the victim's encounter. It was indeed a close shave for us! Phew! Anyway, am not gona relate the haunting story here. Unless you want to give yourself a good scare, then give me a buzz and I'll relate it to you. *goosebumps again now*

And back to Fukuoka....we somehow walked and walked and came past the Fukuoka Yahoo! Dome! It's actually a STADIUM! How cool is that ya!

And HRC Fukuoka is located there as well! Was really lucky to chance upon it actually and I grabbed quite a lot of stuffs there.

I lost quite a bit of weight for this trip even though I had 3 main meals, snacks in between, with A LOT of Carbo intake ! So now that I'm back, I'm gona put on weight again coz I know I look horrid with a terribly unchubby face! Muahaha

Upon my sis verification, it did snowed in Tokyo while I was there, BUT, it was not at our area!! *humph*....Fortunately for the contractors staying in Asakusa, they saw and experienced snow, which unfortunately, NONE OF US BELIEVED THEM!! muahahaha....Hmm....maybe I shall give one of them a call tomorrow. So we were wrong about them after all! *rolls eyes*

That's about it. Super busy days ahead. Feeling the Monday bluesss already. ^_^

Due to a change in plans, I'll be leaving for Japan tomorrow night! And the best part....I'll be flying there ALONE!! Okay, I know there's no big deal in that. But this is somehow my first time travelling to a foreign land alone, taking the public transport and heading down to an Ulu part in Japan, especially where language is a barrier there. The first time was when I went to Osaka. I was pretty scared but luckily my sis was there to pick me straight at the airport so it wasn't that bad. This time round, my boss is unable to fly on the same day with me, hence I would have to travel there first while she will join me later in the evening, taking a much later flight out. Ironically, I'm happy to be travelling there alone. Coz that means I can reach Japan by 7am, take my time to the exhibition hall, and slowly do the booth set-up all by myself! Heehee....It may be tough, but it's good training and experience for me as well. Just keep my fingers crossed that when my boss reached in the evening, she won't scream at me for making the booth look lousy! That's all I pray for. Most of my stuffs are packed, just left with some mischaellenous items which I'll have to buy later on and ya! gifts for our Jap clients! Merlion....*ROAR*.....Think they will be fascinated with stuffs portraying the MERLION! *rolls eyes*....Initially, I was still suggesting to my boss to buy those hats with Kebaya prints! Haha...Ok, I know that sounds corny! Anyway, will head down to DFS to check it out.

Had a farewell dinner for one of my colleagues on Thursday. A number of people have been telling me about the Yummy seafood in Defu Lane 10, which coincidentally used to be the place where I had my attachment while I was still a Poly Kid. Sad to say, that place is filled with unpleasant memories! I still remember I was posted to this company dealing with Alarms. Everyday I do nothing except answering phonecalls, acting busy (and trying not to fall asleep), working as production worker trying to fix the cameras or doing data entry. Only on rare occasions then I'll get to go on-site with my colleagues to kay-po, passing them the screw-drivers, wires or whatever is needed. Simply put, try to make myself useful! Oh!! I even remember sweeping the PUB gates in Kranji!! Sometimes I can't help but feel that attachments are crap. However, it does serve as a good platform to gain some experience prior to working in the real society. Still, I think the schools should try to let the students go into the industry that is more related to their field of study!

Anyway, back to the yummy seafood. The food's not too bad and the price is quite reasonable lah. As we're all too busy eating, we din take any pictures of the food...only some group shots here and there:

Wonderful people who makes working life more interesting! Got 'wind' of another colleague in other department leaving but seems that no one really likes her anyway. For me, I'm neutral coz she's generally quite nice to me.

Oh ya! Due to my business trip, I actually missed an opportunity to go down for a location shoot. Well, though I'm not a fan of this celebrity, it's still pretty fun to go for shoots like that. New campaign coming up real soon. Stay tunned for it!

Gotta go! Will blog when I'm back. Might not have too much pix though coz I feel quite pai sei asking my boss to take pix of me especially when I can be real fussy!!! Heehee....Take Care U people!

It's a really short month for February, so much so that I don't exactly remember what I have done. I only remember being busy, Busier and Busiest than ever especially since we have to meet all deadlines before the festive holidays until I think I became a little disorientated. Anyway, glad that our campaign has been going on smoothly - TV, Bus-stop shelters, Press....you should have seen it all by now. Almost balding from all the stress in planning and implementing the campaign. More to come I guess = More Work! *sign*

Will be leaving for Japan next week. Seriously, it's going to be a really tough trip. That day I was just telling my buddies the superly tight schedule and I'm sure they're not going to envy after that. Done with most of the packing earlier on; and after 2 major business trips, I've learnt from my experience to travel as light as possible. Hopefully I won't have any other last minute extra stuffs to squeeze inside the luggage. So no fashion statement kinda clothes etc. Well, I always look horrendous when travelling anyway! *rolls eyes*

I can forsee that this week is gona pass much even faster than any other weeks! Appointments, work and/or non-work related are already all filling up my schedule. And I still have to fit in my last minute shopping schedule to buy those stuffs I need overseas. Arrrgggg!! I need more time!!

Side track a little. Another of my closer colleague has tendered her resignation. Seems that everyone is slowly tendering one by one. Anyway, still wana wish her all the best in the greener pasture that she has found. And of coz, our gatherings will still include her in the list. She's like a Da-Jie-Da to me. A straight-shooter but she is indeed a sophisticated lady with an attitude.

The Super Gang, taken on the 4th day of CNY @ Bottle Tree Park, Yishun. My closer colleagues and some ex-colleagues whom we'll hang out together monthly. Lovely people!

Oh! And did I mention that CNY came and went just like that. I think I somehow wasted my 6 days of holidays, practically doing nothing unless you would consider eating, sleeping and slacking as doing something. Other than looking forward to Chu-San and Chu-Si, coz these are the only 2 days where I feel that I'm finally being let out of the cage to catch a breather and meet up with my buddies/kakis, the other days were like a torture when it seems that the whole world are so occupied with their own stuffs to even bother about you. I was Superly Bored x 1billion times! Probably that was the only time I wish that I'm back at work. ^_^

Anyway, some random pix to share:

This is what happens when you go
Loi-Hei with a bunch of Agressive people! It's all over the table, hands and even face lor!

At Clara's House during CNY....

After which, I headed down to Kbox @ Marina Square to meet up with my heartbroken friend and sing to our heart's content! Oh well, that's just another posy shot! Haha

At moi place during CNY. Actually, there're more people just that they are busy playing majong while we prefer to win BIG MONEY @ Monopoly! Hahaha.... My mummy actually joined in at our earlier gambling session in Blackjack. And she, played the final round as a banker and guess what?...She got WU-LONG aka Gor-Leng! Kaoz! Super heng lor! And just that round she won 20+bucks from all of us! Then, apparently my papa somehow should have won in majong but I duno why he go throw the tile which Mr. Pow wans so there he lose a fair bit. But the bottom line is that he lost lesser money than Clara!! Hey, no matter what, he is still an amateur lor, unlike the rest! *evils laughter*

Alrighty. That's about it. I've still got some pix but I'm kinda lazy to upload now. Till then!
